Inspections

The County authorized Storm Water Management Department to regulate land disturbing activities in Article 13 of the Subdivision and Construction Regulations. All land disturbing activities must be registered with this Department.

Sites are inspected by Building Inspectors throughout the duration of the project to assure that Best Management Practices are installed and effective in controlling pollutants associated with the particular site.
All sites are monitored and operators of sites found to be in noncompliance with Article 13 of the Jefferson County Subdivision and Construction Ordinance will be subject to enforcement action in accordance with Article 13.

Bond Release/Final Inspections

Once the disturbed area on the site has been stabilized (vegetation or hard surface) a final inspection may be requested (205-325-5321). Once the site has passed it's final inspection, the permit may be closed and the bond released.
The bond must remain in force until the site has passed it's final inspection.
